Baked Spaghetti

Pasta dishes are a weekly staple in our household. I like to experiment with new pasta recipes so I was excited when a friend of mine shared her Baked Spaghetti recipe with me. If you’re looking for something that makes A LOT of food than this is the perfect recipe for you. Since it’s just the 3 of us we had plenty of left overs and more than enough to put it in the freezer for a rainy day which is fine with me. It also has minimal ingredients so you’re getting a lot of food for not a lot of money. It doesn’t get any better than that, right?

Baked Spaghetti

  • 1 (16 oz) box of spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion-chopped
  • 48 oz spaghetti sauce
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 C parmesan cheese
  • 5 TBS butter-melted
  • 2 C cottage cheese
  • 2 C shredded mozzarella
  • 2 C shredded italian blend

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package
  2. While spaghetti is cooking place beef in a pan and cook on medium heat until it's no longer pink and then drain it. Place cooked beef back in pain and add the chopped onion. Cook the onion until translucent. Stir in spaghetti sauce and cook until heated through, set aside.
  3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  4. In a large bowl combine the eggs, parmesan cheese and melted butter
  5. Drain spaghetti and add the mixture until coated evenly
  6. Place half the spaghetti mixture into a greased baking dish
  7. Top with half the cottage cheese, meat sauce and shredded cheese mixture
  8. Repeat layers
  9. Cover and bake for 40 minutes
  10. Bake uncovered for 20 more minutes or until cheese is melted
