Easy Cinnamon Bread

Happy Hump Day!! I know my breakfast recipe for the weekend is a few days early but it was too good to hold off on and I have an exciting giveaway to tell you about on Friday that this recipe had to get bumped up a few days. No complaints here though and it’s definitely a win-win for you, a delicious cinnamon bread recipe on a wednesday and a fabulous giveaway on Friday.  Now if it were up to me I would eat this cinnamon bread for breakfast every morning. I think it’s one of my favorite things to make. I hope you enjoy it!


Cinnamon Bread

Yield: 1 loaf


  • 2 C all purpose flour
  • 1-1/2 C sugar-divided
  • 1 TSP baking soda
  • 1/2 TSP salt
  • 1 C buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 C canola oil
  • 3 TSP ground cinnamon
  • Glaze:
  • 1/4 C confectioners' sugar
  • 1-1/2 TSP milk


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Grease 9 X 5 loaf pan
  3. Combine flour, 1 C sugar. baking soda and salt
  4. Add buttermilk, egg and oil into dry ingredients
  5. In a small bowl combine cinnamon and remaining sugar
  6. Pour batter into pan, add half cinnamon sugar- use a knife to swirl
  7. Add remaining cinnamon sugar on top
  8. Bake in oven for 45-50 minutes or until knife inserted into the center comes out clean
  9. Cool on a wire rack and drizzle glaze over loaf
