Red Velvet Valentine Pie

With Valentines Day almost a month away I’ve  been racking my brain for the perfect dessert. I’ve had refrigerated pie crusts in my fridge since Thanksgiving and with the expiration date fast approaching I knew I needed to find a good use for them. I love this recipe because of the simplicity of it. Whip this up for your sweetie on Valentines Day or switch it up with a different cake flavor and make it tomorrow.


Red Velvet Valentine Pie


  • Refrigerated pie crust
  • Red Velvet Box Cake Mix
  • For the topping:
  • 1/2 C butter
  • 12 oz bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 12 oz bag semi-sweet mini chocolate chips
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk - 14 oz


  1. This recipe makes 2 pies
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  3. Place pie crusts in your pie pans
  4. Make red velvet cake following box instructions
  5. Equally separate cake batter between pie pans
  6. Bake for 35 minutes
  7. For topping:
  8. Melt butter, 12 oz of semi-sweet chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk in a pot
  9. Once all are melted together pour on top of both pies
  10. Top with mini chocolate chips
