Weekend Recap

The weekends always go by way too fast for me. I’ve been counting fridays as part of the weekend for the past 2 weeks because we’ve got to enjoy them together as a family.

Friday, we headed to a local public pool that we had heard about. It was such a nice way to end the day even though we had to leave the pool early due to thunder and lightening.

Saturday we were supposed to go to the Cecil County Food & Wine Festival but since we couldn’t get a sitter for Matthew and the heat index was extremely high with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms so we decided to get sushi for lunch instead.

Saturday night we were talking about what we could on Sunday because for once our calendar was completely empty. Not that I am complaining, I love when my days are filled with things to do. Jeremy suggested we make a spur of the moment day trip to Rehoboth Beach. We had plans to leave bright and early but of course with a toddler and tired parents we didn’t get out the door till 8:45 am. After a few stops along the way, we finally arrived at our destination.

If you plan on visiting Rehoboth Beach and have a smart phone, I highly suggest downloading Parkmobile. Parkmobile as an option to search for parking locations near you as well as the option to pay for parking using your phone and your credit card. This way you can keep an eye on the parking time and simply extend it if you want to stay an extra hour or so.

If you are traveling to the beach with a toddler and don’t already do this, I highly suggest bringing baby powder with you. I was so happy I grabbed it before we headed out the door. It makes the sand come right off of your child’s skin without hurting them.

When we got home, I wanted to make something quick for dinner since it was almost Matthew’s bed time. I whipped together pasta and sauce, Matthew loved every bit of it.

Tomorrow I am going to be testing out something new in the kitchen. I hope it turns out as planned so I can share it with you. Keep your fingers crossed!

Hope you had a great weekend =)
