Weekend Recap

What a wonderful weekend it has been! Where do I begin? My best friend Kelsi & I have been trying to plan a girls weekend to NJ for a while now. I am so happy we found a date that worked with both of our busy schedules and we were able to head to the Jersey Shore for a three day weekend filled with fun, food, and, well, more food. What’s a vacation without great restaurants though, right?

We started the morning off with a drive to Seaside. My main reason for heading to there was to show Kelsi where they filmed the MTV show Jersey Shore. Since the show has ended we were able to tour the inside of the house they lived in, it was very interesting!

Friday night we headed to Asbury Park, I was super excited to try this place called Porta for dinner but there was an hour wait. We decided to walk to a nearby restaurant, Stella Marina. Stella Marina was…well let’s not talk about it. After dinner we walked the boardwalk a short distance to the Beach Bar, the view is absolutely beautiful. After sitting at the Beach Bar for a little bit we headed back to Porta for some fun. I like to go to Porta around 9 once the dinner crowd leaves, you’re then able to get a table and enjoy the music and atmosphere. Before we called it a night we stopped at my favorite coffee place in NJ, The Inkwell. The Inkwell serves this drink called The Dutch Coffee- it is AMAZING!

Saturday we got a little bit of a late start but hey who cares it’s vacation right? We spent the afternoon at the beach where the rip tide tried to take me out, not kidding-super scary! After we got some sun we got ready for dinner and headed to Sunsets. We missed the sunset due to the clouds but being able to sit on the water and enjoy a nice dinner is something I miss in MD. Yes, don’t get me wrong there is the Inner Harbor but that’s so big and busy to me. Dinner was delicious!

Sunday morning we got up bright and early and went parasailing! I’ve been before but it was Kelsi’s first time and I was so excited to share the experience with her. After parasailing, breakfast and a little sight seeing we headed home.

Our drive home took an extra hour due to rain and flash flooding but once we got a little closer to home it was beautiful!

Hope you had a fabulous weekend!
