Weekend Recap

Hey friends!
Holy cow, it is crazy how fast time has flown by. 4 years and 2 kids later, we’ve come a long way. I am so ready to dive back in to the blogging world and what better way then to start out with a Weekend Recap post. The other day I received an email invite to a blogger bash in my area, it got me thinking about how much I miss blogging and I knew I couldn’t say no to it. Now that Jonathan is almost 1 and Matthew is in preschool I feel ready and know that I have the time to commit to blogging again.
I know it’s been a full year since I’ve been around and I’m sure I have a lot to learn and refresh my mind with, but in the meantime follow me on snapchat: Doree1805 or Instagram: Doree Martin – I’m the most active at those two places
Lets get to the weekend recap! After what seemed like a never ending rainfall, Saturday ended up being a beautiful day and Sunday was even nicer!
We started Saturday off by eating at a restaurant in Fork, MD we’ve never been to before called the Sunshine Grille. The atmosphere was really neat and the food was delicious. I want to go back and try the desserts because they looked AMAZING!

After breakfast we had some errands to do. I am obsessed with the wallflowers from Bath and Body Works, we had to go restock our favorite scents. I personally love the London Tea scent the best.
We ended Saturday night at a friends house for a Kentucky Derby party. We had a nice night with friends, enjoying good food and good company.

I love snapchat filters ;-)
Sunday started off early, we were up and out of the house by a little after 7:00. This is the second year in a row we spent Mother’s Day at Dutch Wonderland. I just love it there and so does Matthew, watching the joy and excitement on his face as he goes from ride to ride is the absolute best thing ever! It was even better this year because Jonathan got to go on a few rides with Matthew and he didn’t mind Duke either which I thought for sure he’d be terrified of.

I also had to share the beautiful handmade card my husband made for me with Matthew. He knows I’ve been working on my hand lettering a lot lately and told me when he handed me the card that he was also practicing his hand lettering, too funny!!
